Rhyolite is a ghost town east of Death Valley, which boomed from 1904-1907 or so. It had a lot of impressive buildings for a town that existed for so little time, such as the three story building seen through the doorway. A very impressive railroad station still stands.

I love how the sharpness of the door contrasts the softness of the scene. It really plays tricks with the eyes trying to focus on the village.

I love the contrast of the colors and sharpness/softness between the fore- and back- grounds. The crumbling building and mountains behind it take on the quality of a painting. Enjoying the creativity and '"frames within frames" - thanks for sharing!
