A Couple Sunset Shot From a Beautiful Fall Evening in Florida

I noticed some great overcast clouds all day and decided to venture out to a spot close to home to see if the sunset was going to produce some nice colors.

Both photos were bracketed -2, 0, +2, but in the end, bringing the shadows up didn't give great or realistic results, so I kept the PP to a minimum and left it as it was.

C&C always welcome!

Wow great shots!!

I have to ask if fill flash, external lights or heavier exposure bracketing captured more details in the fore ground. or Extreme HDR?? I took a second look at the flicker download and changed my mind.
They are great as presented.

I have to agree with you there. I lost the deep reds with that partial cloud cover, but the shadows made up for it. Thank you so much!

First off, thank you for the kind words!

All of the data is there in my DNG file, I just felt every time I pushed the shadows, I lost some of the feel of what I saw while taking the photo. Here's a quick example that I just tweaked the tone curve to bring up the highlights. I didn't bother with bringing more contrast or highlights down. I may play with it some more and see where it takes me...thank you for the suggestions.
