Lots of Adobe Updates Today

Adobe MAX, the annual Adobefest, always brings updates. It started today. I checked my CC app and there are lots including Photoshop, Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, Rush, Premier Pro, After Effect, Bridge, etc.

If it is like previous mass updates, servers may be a little slow.

If you are among the curious try a Google for "What's new in Lightroom Classic CC" and "What's new in Photoshop CC". I got hits for both and the reading is entertaining.

Don,

Yes, for post processing junkies, it is the first and best part of the gift season!

One of the Adobe things I'm having fun with is the evolution of the cloud Lightroom CC and learning phone photography techniques to go with it. (No, I am not abandoning my other habits and work flows but trying to add to them. And no, phone photography is not better than ILC system photography.)

At a prerelease demo last week there was a preview of a new style of interactive training in the Help menus of the phone, tablet and desktop versions of Lightroom (cloud). You might have fun if you take a look.

The other update that blew my socks off was (yet another) upgrade to the selection tools in Photoshop. Adobe is using their "Sensai" AI stuff for selections.

Perhaps someone can help me with a new Photoshop feature, specifically the new Object Selection Tool. The link listed leads to a page that says the new tool can be found with the Quick Selection and Magic Wand tools. I've updated, and that advice does not work. Is there something I have to set up? It says version 21.0.0.

I just opened my version 21 and it is there with those two tools. Have you opened a photo in PS? On mine, the left hand panel is a double row, and the tool is the 2nd one down on right row. You may have to open the little pointer at lower left to show all 3 and then choose which tool you want. HTH. Dave

I had to reset my workspace. I use the photography workspace and my object selection tool was missing, switched to another workspace and there it was. Reset the photography workspace and it showed up, of course then I had to add in my extensions again, but all is well now.

The tool is also in the select & mask screen.

You post prompted me to see if it was on my new V21. It wasn't so, I pulled up the tools menu (Look for 3 dots ... ) and it was on there. I selected it and dragged it to the magic wand location. It's installed but not where you go to look for it.

Thanks. Also not where Adobe said to look for it. But I did manage to find it, thanks to you.
