PG&E is not an agency of the state government. It has shareholders and through decades of mismanagement, and avarice, has done a great deal to put us where we are--with an electric infrastructure that is on the verge of collapse. This is what paying dividends to shareholder in lieu of proper maintenance will get you. This is not failure of liberals or socialism--it is a failure of capitalism.
If the state should be faulted for anything, it is regulating these greedy bastards not closely enough.
