I believe Rogstrix was just making a suggestion. Not looking into starting an argument. People on here always seem to get snippy, that is why many of us rarely post! It often gets to the point that I no longer even want to be part of UHH!
Anyone asking for comments/critique should be able to handle them.

Appreciate the support thank you. It was just a tongue in cheek comment, perhaps I should have added 'lol'.

So are you saying that the only way to respond to a post with a photograph is to post a photo yourself? We are all entitled to our opinions whatever they may be. Your comment with focus stacking suggests you are a SOC, only RAW, no post processing kinda guy.

Don't get defensive Papakatz45 … Those defending the freedom to critique have around 10 photos between them... Tells you a lot.... When I asked the original OP for an example from his own work and he got defensive too and hasn't got back ...pattern emerging here... I will state again I will accept constructed and founded critique that aids in learning not poorly worded opinion... The poster has to prove that they know what they are talking about rather than talking through their backside…. If my 3 year old grandson cut the brakes on your car then told you to drive at 100MPH at a wall and brake at the last second would you do it??? But you would take advice from a beginner photographer based on the images they post in this forum despite the images showing they are lacking basics.... Everything they post is a reflection on them including the XMAS tree and wife in jest photo in the case of the original OP... And you now want me to take advice and act on their opinion... ;-)

My only comment would be to question why the cropping/framing is not level. It is an interesting angle for sure, but I don't think the photo would lose anything by being level, and I am not sure it gains by being on the angle.

Sorry John missed this in all the fuss about nothing... lol...

I only had a 50mm prime on the day and was on stairs so couldn't back up any more.... hence the just to the right at an angle to the stairs and the dutch tilt became a knee jerk to the off centre position...

I don't mind critique at all … when asked for.... At no point have I asked on 4 posts yet was given 3 critiques and a bit of advice... If you offer critique then you should be able to handle someone who laughs at your advice... ;-)

Difference of opinion can be a source of humor. But it is not required to laugh. Just automatically place, "This is what I would do..." prior to any critique.

An old saying that should be kept in mind: For every accusatory pointing finger, there are three pointing back.

And..."Chill."

Hey Camera Man;
I was going to mention this also very soon but I am glad some one noticed this too. Despite the 'critics' on this, I was impressed she did a good job of balancing herself on the window ledge so this lovely shot could be captured. I tend to not notice little bitty nit-picky stuff or even care, I appreciate the whole image(s), everyone's, for all the beauty I see. Glad you posted this.
Again, lovely photo JoeJoe. Keep'm coming.

So from this post of yours I gather you feel that unless we are far from being a "beginner", our opinion of a photograph has no merit. One must be technically competent with years of experience before their opinion as to whether or not a photograph is "any good". Got it.

Often a tyro has a tendency to put the finger on the problem because they do not know better. The expert listens to any and all comments without deriding the source. But, hey, I don't know what I'm etc., etc., etc....

Your work does have merit and shows ability. And, like everyone, you still have a long path before you. Just saying, of course.

I really like this photograph. I like everything about the pose, the sensuous lines of the form, the head tilt, etc. To me it seems a classic Aphrodite image.

I also like the high-key exposure. The tilted frame adds dynamic interest and captures my eye. The model appears to be standing vertically within the picture while also standing vertically in relation to the window, creating a dynamic tension.

Would love to see a download.

Nice photo, JoeJoe--what you did worked well, and I enjoyed seeing it.
It’s much better than a lot of the things we see posted in this section--maybe some folks are jealous.
Keep posting; ignore the naysayers; I’m sure the great bulk of us enjoy your work.

Thank you Jaymatt Really appreciate the kind words...

She's a very accomplished model who's in high demand …. It was a pleasure/honour to work with her... 99% of the shot is her doing her thing ...I just pointed and shot...
