A take off on the question "Your Favorite Camera" You can only have one camera, you can all the lenses you want to go with that camera. Money is no problem. Remember this camera is the only one you can have for the rest of your life. Something happens to the camera, no replacement.

Before I answer if Something happens to the camera, no replacement can I get it repaired?

Tough one - have a fight between Nikon's D850 and D500

This is something that I can't really get my arms around. I should probably choose a top of the line Nikon digital, but my heart says a Leica or Hasselblad.

Very silly question.
If one is 20 years old why would one tie ones self to a camera for 50-70 years?
If I was 99 I would stick to the camera I currently have.

I'm old enough that my present main camera, an EOS 80D, might be my last camera. I'm not planning an upgrade - yet! I can't think of what it might do better, other than a major improvement in low light sensitivity. But that, to a greater or lesser degree, is common to all models.

I'm with you, Longshadow! Bill 45’s diction is almost cryptic. I’m sure he has an underlying question, perhaps what model camera one would choose. I wonder if he simply did an extreme version of what most of us do on occasion, including myself: he "thought" it, i.e. the actual question, while he typed out his post and genuinely believed he had typed it as well.

So, Bill 45, WHAT is the question or point you’re trying to make?

I've read the opening post 3 times over
and given it a bit of thought. I seriously
doubt that the author ever did the same.

I know which camera, money no object,
I'd use if I could have only one, but that
doesn't answer the pointless, mindless,
not-really-a-question posed by the OP.

What is the problem?
The OP amply asked the question which camera would one chose to use exclusively for the rest of one’s life.
Contribute if you want, but don’t make it more complicated with profound and unwarranted analysis.

That means if it breaks that's it? Can I buy another one of same model? If I can't have another one if it breaks then I don't know because I have to pick one that would last for a long time which is hard to pick as any camera can break if you're not lucky.
I have no problem using the Nikon Df that I currently have forever. I have no need for better. I expect to be able to edit the images from it forever as long as I am careful about the changes in software availability. I think I can get batteries and memory cards for a long time. I am not sure how long the camera would last. So if you don't allow me to buy another one if it breaks I have to do research to find one that is likely to last a real long time.
Let me say this. I am perfectly happy with the very first camera I ever bought which is the Nikon F2AS. But I can't forsee the availability and cost of film and processing. I switch to digital only because of cost and availability of film and processing. I used to have the labs processed my film and then doing my own printing however it's hard to find a lab that would return my film the same day. B&H doesn't want to ship the chemical I need plus the fact Kodak raised the price of chemical and paper a lot. I have to order the type of film I like to use the most which is Kodak Portra and Ekta which need to be refrigerated and they are not refrigerated during shipping which is not a good thing.
