This is how we grow them here! Found in the woods in back of our house. Bigger than a softball. It's been WET here this year! Only see these large ones every few years. It grew up through the moss and weeds, imbedding them as it enlarged.

A softball?
They may get much larger, football size.
Batter dipped and a bit of sugar and fried, not bad at all.
Check that it is an undifferentiated white inside.
Better to have IDed by someone sure of the ID.

I know they're edible but I'll stick to the morels that grow every Spring in the grass near the woods.
