As you all know, I’m sure, I recently bought the Sony RX100 VII. While I absolutely love this little gem of a camera, I noticed that it is, as some have stated, slippery, and there is no way to grip the camera. So I ordered the Richard Franiac grip. This is a beautiful grip, made of machined aluminum. It fits perfectly and looks OEM. Without this grip, the camera is slippery and it’s possible for it to slip out of your grip. I also got the Sony grip, and while it’s got a tacky feeling so it won’t be slippery, it just looks like something you added on to the camera. To me, it detracts from the appearance of the camera. Anyway, while this grip isn’t cheap, it’s worth the price, in my opinion. I recommend that anyone buying one of the RX100 series cameras, buy the Richard Freniac grip.

I bought an addon and it feels sharp in my fingers... took it off. Buying rubberized work glove at Harbor Freight gloves a soft grip fabric that can be glued on to the camera; it is flexible to fit contour.
Great grip is the DIY Plaster-of-Paris filled tennis ball with enough screw distance to left-hand eagle claw the top of the ball with the right hand against the camera ... very stable hold.

I will give the Richard Franiec grip a try, and if it doesn’t have a good “feel,” I’ll remove it and try the one from Sony. Too bad the Richard Franiec grip is so expensive. My only issue with the Sony grip is that it looks like an add-on, while the other actually looks OEM. It’s unfortunate that Sony didn’t just design the camera body with a grip to begin with, or at least make the flat front surface with a grippy material. It’s one thing to lose a cheap camera, but one this expensive should come equipped with a grippy surface for safety and security.
Fantastic camera. I use a neck strap so no danger of dropping.
I use a wrist strap and the sony grip, I love my RX100V !!

I use the wrist loop that comes with the camera, before I pick up my RX100's I put the loop around my wrist and off I go. The beauty of the RX100's is the size. I do not wish to make it any bigger than it is, sort of defeats the purpose of the RX100. IMHO

Interesting, I got a loop that attaches to the camera, with a clip on the end, but no wrist strap. I think someone forgot to include the actual strap when they packed the camera for shipment. It was a new camera in the sealed box, so I think it was just a mistake on someone's part. I love this camera, and it will probably become my only camera.
