Hi I just got a smoking deal on a beseler universal 45 and a cambo view camer with a 150 Mm lens with a copal shutter at a thrift store ,both look immaculate! I love my digital pentax's but the idea of manually setting up each pic and using composition big time is very appealing to me,I will now dust off my medium format cameras as well as my 35mm film cameras, now the question is,how do you Hogg's divide your time between digital and film?

Here is my division of digi and film.

100% film

0% digital

I don't shoot digital, I'm not interested. One day that may change if my ability or finances won't allow a darkroom or the cost of developing and printing with a print house but for now...all is well.

I have an old 35mm film that I HAVE NOT USED IN YEARS. But View camera opens a new ball game. Read a story once about a method a pro would do to use his view camera. He used a Polaroid to take what we saw first to analysis the photo because of cost. View cameras are mucho expensive to use. When he shot something he liked he would shoot the larger format. View cameras cannot be beat because of all of the manipulations. The problem would be all of that gear. He shot for Arizona Highways and they only used larger format photos. I believe his was 8x10.

My Yashica Electro 35 is becoming my EDC ... I'm using my digital for special occasions and long shots ... I do my own film processing but still, print digital ... !

I shoot large format almost exclusively, both 8x10 and 4x4. I do use a Fuji X-E2 to preview compositions much like back in the day we used Polaroid film. The Fuji is set on monochrome to help visualize things.

Judging from the volume of posts, I think the vast majority of UHH members are digital only, but there are a few of us film shooters left.

I have a monorail view and Speed Graphic, but seldom take them out any more. Price of film and the shortage of time to devote to them.

I shoot digital for work projects, family events, sports, and wildlife. When I'm going out to shoot photos for enjoyment or art, I leave the digital gear in my car, and use medium format or 35mm rangefinder. The use of the gear is absorbing, as you note, and likely to take you away from all cares and concerns of the day.

Like many, I use a hybrid workflow. I still have my darkroom gear, but I don't shoot enough film to justify the consumables and chemistry. I have my film processed and scanned at a local shop, and process in LighRoom. I print some at home, but enlargements also go out for printing.

You'll hear a lot of "always" and "never" responses, but you will arrive at your own balance. A monorail view is a great piece of kit and I expect you'll enjoy using it.

I don't follow a fixed schedule or routine. Whatever I feel like that day. Sometimes both at the same time!

I using a digital camera (Sony DSC-H1) now. I like lot of things the camera can do. But am I going to under load my film cameras? No, in fact yestoday was at a auction and I got a Minolta SR-7 for $10.00. The camera body is fine , The lens is not working. I will replace that. If any one ask I pay $25.00 for the Sony.( it is mint.). When winter come and I want to do any outside shooting I will not use the Sony. I have a German made camera (Retina IIIC ) for that kind of shooting.

Probably 75% digital, and the remaining 25% divided equally between MF and 35mm film (which I develop and print).

I shoot little film these days due to cost. I shoot film these days because I will slow me down and it makes me really "see". If I could get a killer deal on an 8X10, 5X7, or 4X5 view camera, I would have to find the money to get it. Also, if I could get a killer deal on the Hasselblad's swing, tilt, and lift film unit and a good digital back, I would go for that too.
