Although designed primarily for passenger use, the Trimotor could be easily adapted for hauling cargo, since its seats in the fuselage could be removed.
Ford Trimotor "Port Clinton"The Ford Trimotor had a near immediate impact on early commercial aviation. Within a few months of the plane's introduction, Transcontinental Air Transport was created to provide coast-to-coast passenger service, based on a series of point to point hops across the country for rest and refueling. This image and the close-up of the "City of Wichita" were scanned from images captured using expired Fuji Superia 100 film.
Ford Trimotor "Eastern Air Transport" Pan American Airways used Ford Trimotors extensively. Their first international scheduled flights connected Key West to Havana, Cuba, in 1927. Eventually, Pan American extended service from North America and Cuba into Central and South America in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Great set, and thanks for the words.
Nice set and great information, as always.
Finally something still flying that's a bit before my time. She's still a beauty and a marvel in early aeronautics. Once again, great snaps.
