Alan, welcome to the forum. You need to answer yourself the question, "What am I trying to say"
Look at the Model
Look at the Car
Look at the Model and car.
If that is the case you need to change your shooting position so you see the model more and less of the car.

This photo could be used as a cover image for a magazine featuring pin up models, custom cars & hot rods. The image is draw attention to the magazine on a news stand.

#1 is fine, light, focus, scene hook well. #2 has some flaws related to lighting (bow outs, unnecessarily shadowed areas. The depth of field in both is fine. Can’t tell about the focus because you did not click the boxes to store make photo itself downloadable.

I think that if you take your imagination and sense of scene outside, focus carefully, and learn a bit about fill lighting, you should be in good shape. Then the real work begins, finding clients. For that, I suggest associating with those in the know.

You might try Google-ing Sinners Hot Rods and going to their website to view their use of models to display their hot rods.

The first photo looks like it was taken for a Hot Rod Magazine and is well done in my opinion. The second one Is good, but I would use a slightly lower camera position to give a bit more normal perspective of the model. Again just my opinion.

Interesting photos if not my style. In the first photo it's concept - why put the model on the concrete in the scene. Put her on the right front wheel in more full body looking over the engine. Second photo, two things bother me, her nose (probably the wrong focal length lens) and the lighting - need a fill light for the front of her dress and the left side of her face. Right side of her face is too well lit. Otherwise, good first try.
