Hi All Here for your morning coffee is a nosegay of what I grew up with and knew as wild prairie Asters. These are around in the fall, one of the last blooming flowers of the northern prairies. I sure there are many botanists (me not being one) in this group who will give us the proper name, maybe even in latin. Thanks for looking and please enjoy. RBorud
Beautiful flowers by any name. And an excellent photograph.
An excellent and different shot. The flowers are lovely and I like what you did with the background!
Very nice!
Probably Symphyotrichum novae-angliae - "New England aster" (don't let the name fool you, it is native as far west as Montana.) That is the last significant bloomer here (northerner Michigan), and is in full bloom now, a couple of weeks later than usual.
The other possibility is Symphyotrichum oblongifolium - "Aromatic aster" - but yours looks more like New England aster.

Nice Photo. I have these on my property in NW PA. They are in bloom now.
