I am looking at purchasing an upgrade to the kit lenses I currently use and need some recommendations. Current equipment, Nikon d7500, 18-55 3.5/5.6 afs , 55-200 4/5.6 afs , 50 1.8 afs, 70-300 4/5.6. Budget would be $500.00 max for used. Doing a mix of street and nature with an occasional landscape. I do a lot of converting to b/w in lightroom, like the look. If I can swing multiple lenses for that price even better, but one "all around" is good.

For low light street photography, I don't think you can beat Tamron's SP VC series prime lenses. The 35mm f/1.8, 45mm f/1.8, and 85mm f/1.8 all have vibration compensation. The combination of the large max aperture and stabilization make it great for street photography. They also have a metal lens barrel and are fully weather sealed. I have the 45mm f/1.8 SP VC. I use it on my Nikon D7000, D500, and D750. There's a $200 instant rebate on the 45mm f/1.8 right now

You seem to have all lengths covered, so I would recommend the Nikon 18-300 as an upgraded lens. I have a D7200 and earlier this year I traded my 18-140 kit lens for it. I can’t recommend it enough. You should be able to get a slightly used one within your budget.

You might want to try KEH, a well known on-line lens reseller. Adorama, B&H, and Roberts also carry used lenses. All come with high standards but they might also bust your budget.

Get a long (>100mm) macro. If you shoot nature, you'll never regret it.

Even used, Canon/Nikon offerings may exceed your limit but both Tamron and Sigma both produce genuinely first rate long macro lenses. Prowl the refurbs, KEH and eBay. Some time back, a friend picked up a Tamron 180mm for $150 at one of those joint neighborhood garage sales. It had no case and she was warned that it had a cracked lens and had been "used a lot". Cleaned up, it was slightly brassed in a couple of spots and had a cracked haze filter which was un-stucked and replaced for a few dollars. It produces great shots today.

Where are you looking for improvements? A single "all around" lens will not be as good as what you already own.

Maybe just to streamline all the stuff he has to lug around.

When I purchased my Nikon D3300 it came with the 18-55, 3.5-5.6 kit lens, recently I sold that lens and replaced it with a Nikon 18-140 3.5-5.6 lens, ( same Aperture.) this lens had very good reviews, it is now my everyday "Walk-around" lens I also have the Nikon 35 & 50 1.8g lens, and the Nikon 55-200mm. Do some research on the 18-140.

Ken Rockwell give some good info about Nikon lenses. I got some beautiful used Lenes like 18-55mm 2.8 DX. And I use some D lenses, too. I bought a used 18-75mm 5.6 D, 28mm 2.8 $50, 50mm 2.8Yukon $15 just to “learn”

This lens is $100.00 over your max, but it comes with a 5 year warranty and is very sharp.

I bought the non vr version for the low low price of 40.00 on keh. Can only be used on a tripod.

If I had to select one lens for the D7500 for street photography it would be 24mm f2.8 to get the equivalent view of a 36mm lens with full frame. If using full frame it would be the 35mm f2.8.
In good light I see nothing wrong using the 18-55.

Nikon manufactures several kit lenses with focal lengths suitable for street photography and the 18-140 VR comes to mind. An old 18-70 f3.5-4.5 would be very nice also and I have used mine with that purpose in mind. Both zooms as very good for landscape photography also.
If I were you I would try to buy the 70-300 VR version.

The 18-300 Nikon lens will make 3 of your current lenses redundant, if you don't mine the size. If you want more high-speed and sharpness, the 24-70 2.8 refurb can be had for $600.

You already have a nice focal range. What are you trying to improve, low lite, IQ?
