Great color in Maple trees during Fall Foliage. Superb capture FiddleMaker
Great capture fiddlemaker. Love the beautiful color. Did anyone ever capture any of the sap and make maple syrup? Mahalo for sharing.
Really nice color, good capture!
Maple Trees are so beautiful, We here in Michigan have Zillions of these, and they "Blaze" in the Fall of the year.
Beautiful shot - such vibrant colours.

I really need to send this photo to a friend who operated a maple syrup making operation back in the 1970s and so he knows a lot about sugar maple trees. Based on the structure of the branches of this photo that I submitted, it does not appear to be true sugar maple. There are a number of non-sugar producing maples that yield nice color in the Fall and this may be one of them.

JoAnneK01, I think this is one of those varieties of maple trees that do not produce sap. I say this just based on the structure of the branches. There are a couple of true maple sap producing trees locally and I should take a pix of one of them and post here on the forum so that you can compare the branches of the two varieties.
Lovely color. Sad to learn it is gone.
