As usual with Nikon, finding compatible lenses is not as simple as implied. Strictly speaking, the camera is said to work with the following

AF-S lenses types G / D / F

AF-P lenses types G / E

AF-I lenses type D

Of the lenses still sold, B&H will have a note if it depends on a in-body motor.

So, like many other Nikon bodies, the Z series doesn't support the older lenses without the in-lens motor. This is really nothing new. Thankfully, although I still have a few of those lenses, all my other bodies support them. I would not call this a deficiency. It would take space and weight to add an in-body motor. I love my Z6, including any of its "limitations". I think Nikon made wise decisions. Best of luck.

Thank you so much. Haven't found anything I didn't like so far - other than it seems I can't get my MAC to recognize it when I connect camera to computer (I shoot RAW and it is suported by my LR). Instead I have to download to a folder and then import.

NOT involving you camera for downloading is probably a better idea anyway as those connections on the body can wear out easily over time. You can 'Import' your photos directly into Lr, given you have updated software. I use Lr Classic subscription and have had no issues with RAW from my Z6. Best of luck.

I don't usually do direct download, but I don't have a card reader for the QXD card and I heard they were being updated (card readers) and I don't know what would be the best to get. Think I'll search the forum.

B&H has what you need. I used to use a Lexar USB 3.0 XQD card reader ($43) but now use a an Atech Thunderbolt 3 device that reads both XQD and CFExpress cards. The Z cameras are expected to be upgraded, via firmware, to accept CFExpress cards in the near future. Best of luck.
