Well my son likes Canadians also. His Army Reserve unit hooked up with a Canadian Para Unit for training up in Alaska and they got along so well they decided to invade someone together. The Canadians swapped their weapons and gear for US gear to make supply easier and they all hopped abound long range transports and flew down and invaded Australia together. Even if it was just war games with blanks they had a great time. The Canadians did get upset that they weren't allowed to be interviewed by the cute little female reporter from an Alaskan TV station who flew down with them. (It was a secret that Canadian and US troops were working together!*) So they all removed anything that would ID them as Canadian from their uniforms and kept walking back and forth behind the reporter as she interviewed people. They waved at the camera etc. It never dawned on the officers trying to keep them under wraps and secret that their uniform camo pattern and cut was different and to anyone who knew just screamed "We are Canadian." On the way home the transport my son and a bunch of the Canadians were on developed a small crack in a cockpit window so while the other planes did a mid air refueling and went on their way their plane was "forced" to land in Hawaii and they were "forced" to play tourist for 3 days while a replacement part was flown over and installed. Somehow I don't think they complained about being mistreated or late getting home. The air base was close to a beach, with girls.
*Say, something familiar about that - history teacher - think!!!! Got it, Canadians and Americans who joined, trained and then fought together in the mountains of Italy in WW II. That one even got its own movie "The Devil's Brigade".
