The lady bugs are noxious to taste, smell, and touch.
They are one of the aphid's major controls. Not much eats the aphids, and few predators eat ladybugs.
The common milkweed is host to a lot of very close relations. Beetles, bugs, aphids and more are dependent on it besides Monarchs.

Milkweed seems to only get those yellow aphids. There are some insects that eat Ladybugs though.... A beetle in the family Cleridae. These are a beneficial beetle, eating wood boring beetle larva as larva, and any small insect it can overpower as an adult. A few are household pests, eating preserved foods in the pantry.
Thank you for the link.

Looks like you have been taking photos in my front yard.
The ladybugs are holding their own right now but I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the large hover flies.
They show up about the end of September and within 2 weeks the aphids are gone.

That is quite a scene! I have never seen so much 'drama' in just a few square inches.
