Once again, just playing around with a new lens. Shot some JPEGs. All were hand-held at f/1.2. All are SOOC. Nothing spectacular about the subject matter. A stump (That I keep forgetting to cut out) and two of our feral cats, or, as I call them, "The Mooches"! They never miss a meal.
Anyway, thought some of you may be interested in how the lens does wide open. Since getting this lens, which doesn't have IS, I have come to realize how useful IS actually is. High shutter speed is definitely a noticeable plus when hand held. Fortunately, that's not too hard to achieve at f/1.2, even in shaded areas. The highest I went on the ISO was 400.
The demo might have more impact on the masses if you'd take each example and crop to 1920x1080 on the subject and post those. Sometimes, you've got to dunk the horse in the water ...

Great shots and beautiful colors.
Black cat reminds me of my late mattie.

True. This one is cropped a bit smaller but still makes more of an impact then the original. I left them full size so that others could see the full scope of the lens performance for each photo. I was more interested in showing what the lens can do then in showing what I can do. Trust me, the performance of the lens makes for a far more interesting study!

I like this one as well as couldn't decide if that's carpet or concrete, looks like carpet now for their feral throne. But, the black cat, middle image, cropped to just the head is art.

Hmmm! Didn't notice that. Can you post your crop of it? We're partial to the grey one, Fat Albert, so-called because he is from a litter from this Spring and for quite some time was about twice the size of the others in the litter. We have been unable to catch the mother to get her spayed like we have done with the others so every spring she brings a new litter around.
Carpet, BTW.
Here's a cropping I did of the black cat.
