Unfortunately, there is no vaccine for humans, just for horses. I am a mosquito magnet and wear long sleeves and long pants and socks any time I am going to be outside for more than a few seconds. They like my blood for breakfast, lunch and supper.
I had encephalitis when I was 11 years old following a case of Measles. Fortunately, it wasn't of this strain or I wouldn't be typing this.

Michigan, being lake, pond and river country, is full of mosquitos. If this virus spreads, it could be very very serious. I have heard news reports that it has been recommended that all activites around dusk, INCLUDING FOOTBALL GAMES, in southwestern Michigan, be cancelled or rescheduled until the first frost.

It's here in Mass too. They've been spraying for the last month now with at least 2 human cases. Very serious situation.

We need a good hard freeze to be safe soon.

Don't think that will work. Ever hear about Alaska's mosquito problems?
One little thaw and ZAP! They get you.

First story on local news: high school football games in our area were moved to an hour or so earlier tonight.
