D6 and WHAT lens???

Nikon surprised everyone by announcing a new 120-300mm F2.8 VR lens alongside the D6. Sigma has had that lens through 3 generations now and perfected its development. Will Nikons version be as good? Probably. And possibly a bit lighter as well, but it will cost a lot more than the $3500 Sigma Sport version I have used and loved for over 12 years now.

That sure is a surprising announcement. If they can offer that lens at an appreciable weight reduction that could be their sales "hook". I don't know what Nikon's version could offer, beyond that, to generate sales. Interesting
