Oldest Minolta In Nebraska - Dave's Camera of the week.
In 1977 Minolta introduced the XD-11. It was the first to have auto exposure with both shutter and aperture priority. As part of their promotion they had a contest for the oldest Minolta in the U S and also in each state. The winner of the U S got a complete Minolta outfit with two cameras and several lenses. Those who had the oldest Minolta in their state got a XD-ll with a 50mm f/1.4 lens. I won! Bought the camera pictured for $2 at a porch sale a week before I saw the contest. They had me send the Camera in and then sent it back with the new camera. - Dave
Do you still have the XD-11? The XD-11 is a very nice camera.
It was/is. My son took it to Estas park and it was stolen out of his car. I have SRT cameras that I used till the switch to digital. Still have the lens. - Dave
