Some recent hummingbird shots all were in silhouette due to bad lighting, but tried some drastic editing with Silver Efex Pro 2 selective color via a control point.

Very good advice, it's tough to judge potential salvage on a tiny LCD. A little post processing magic can often save what initially looked like a candidate for delete.

I don't get Hummingbirds here in NY. I mostly get grey pidgeons.

As for bird silhouetting that is an interesting effect. Even though it wasn't intended it does allow the observer to use his or her imagination

Absolutely....great advice. There are many great software applications available today that can salvage old works and resurrect them nicely. Thanks man !

That is why I rarely delete in camera. Wait until I see it on my 17" laptop screen. Then delete if not useful.
