Over the years I have picked up some interesting cameras and I thought it would be fun to share them with you. The first one is an "Auto Graflex Jr. A 2 1/4 X 3 1/4 single lens reflex. The auto being the mirror flip up when the shutter button is pressed. The focal plain shutter has Speeds 1/1000 of a sec to bulb. The lens is a Bush&Lomb Tessar with a Pat Feb 24 1903. I think it was bad in 1910 +or- 5yrs.
If I could find a film pack I think I could take pictures with it today. Would you like to see more of my cameras? - Dave

Look at the bottom of my post. I dont spel tooo goode. - Dave
Starting shooting with a 2 1/4x3 1/4 Speed Graphic in 1953. It had the same cloth focal plane shutter as the Graflex. I now have a shelf full of Graphic cameras, including a Graflex like yours. Since film pack is non-existent (and it was always a fuss to process) you could shoot 120 roll film with your Graflex using a Graphic/Graflex roll film holder. Simply remove the spring back from your camera and clip on a roll back.
They are available for 6x6, 6x7, or 6x9cm formats - i.e. square, 'ideal', or full frame. Get one with a lever advance (and film flattening rollers) and make sure it is for a 2 1/4 camera. These backs were also made for 3 1/4x4 1/4 and 4x5 cameras. Happy shooting.

I have a roll film holder for Century Graphic but it will not fit. Thanks for the thought. - Dave
Sure, Dave, now you made me look! Got the Graflex off the shelf. It has a "Graflex RH-10" in position, ready to shoot. The camera itself apparently was set up to carry a film pack holder. It has a slot at the bottom and a slide lock at the top. This may have been a routine modification to eliminate the spring back and the use of cut film holders. Does your camera have a spring back? If it does and you take it off, can you set the roll holder in position on the camera? Lemme know if you work something out. Phil

Hi Dave, Yes would like to see them. Here's the one old one I have in the area of your interest.
If anyone is interested in selling, I'm looking for a 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 Graphic, not Graphlex, with Graphlock back and intact bellows. Model doesn't matter.

This is the camera I got as my first fully adjustable camera. My grandfather bought it for me along with a Gossen Luna Pro light meter. I really enjoyed taking pictures with it and remember loading the cut film into the holders before going out to take some shots. I still have mine but I don't know if you can still buy the boxes of cut film for them.

No spring back. Just film pack holder. It has a slot on top and slide lock on the bottom. The shutter works fine. - Dave
Nice - This camera was used in night club camera. Take the pictures when they come in and have prints for them before they left. - Dave
