Using Win 10, latest version of LR classic, monthly pay version. Still unable to relink my missing pics. I have been reading and watching many you tube videos, not much help or maybe my old brain is having diff. Looked on my desktop and noticed 2 diff. icons of LR, one is classic CC 2.4 and the other one is LR classic. I always do everything in LR not file explorer. When I opened the CC icon there was all my missing pics. I cannot figure out to move them over into LR classic. The structure of LR CC is very basic. I went into my file explorer and saw LR-2, LR-2-2 and LR-3. There is nothing in LR-2 and my pics are in LR-2-2 and LR-3 has numerous pics from when I was using elements and they are not in my main LR. I want to move or add these pics over to my main LR-2-2.
should I do a import? or do I need to get a geek to fix my problems? L. Shoe will go into LR and fix things but she charges $135 an hour, while I feel this is not out of line, I am a retired person on a strict budget. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your terminology has me confused. The latest version of LR Classic is 8.4. Is that what you meant by 2.4? Are the other LR's you reference the cloud-based version?

This is probably impossible to resolve via Q & A given your limited technical knowledge of the situation. Spending money to resolve probably sucks, but probably also the most effective approach. The measures of success for your paid help:

1. Remove old / out of date LR launch icons from your desktop.
2. Assure your old LR catalog has been merged into your new LR catalog.
3. Remove the old LR software from the computer.
4. Resolve all missing images within the new LR catalog.

Your monthly subscription provides chat technical support with Adobe. You might try this service first before paying more for help. Use the four requirements above as the basis for the chat discussion.

Contact Adobe Support, explain the problem and let them operate things on your computer by remote and fix it. Then they will tell you how to avoid this in future.

Worked when I first got CC and still had LR6 on my laptop. It kept wanting to "update" LR 6 to CC and had put some edits in the wrong app.
The tech moved things around where they should be, restored LR6 and then to prevent it happening again split my account into two with a different E-mail address for LR6 on the laptop. Seems the update server assumed anything on an e-mail address was supposed to be all the same thing, not different versions of the same app.

Have you tried calling Adobe 1-800-833-6687 . I have had a good experience with them . They will sink on to your pc and fix your problem.

You could try creating a new catalog. File, New, Catalog. This will not throw away the old catalog, or do anything that you wouldn't be able to go back to, it would just let you see if a new catalog would solve your problems. Do this and then let it search your hard drives and add all pictures to your new catalog. See what happens.
