I took this shot through the window of a bus using a Canon 7D Mark II and Canon EF 100mm 2.8L macro lens. Here is my original and my shot after post processing. How did I do? What else could I have done to improve the image? I have also attached my cropped image. All comments welcome!

Fine work! The yellow background and nose, and the color on the left border, do distract me somewhat.

Very interesting series. First, I would like to see the uncropped photo if it is different from the first. Post processing is well done, nice and sharp, colors seem true. I really like the last shot with the eye reflection. Keep it up.

Thank you -- yes, I don't like those areas either. They would get cropped.

The first photo is the uncropped, unedited original photo. Thank you!

It could do with some desaturating, either globally or with the HSL tool to desaturate orange and possibly yellow.

I have never looked at a lion at close quarters but is that pale nose end for real? Perhaps it was a highlight so could you not clone a little hair onto the bald patch rather than cropping? Excellent image, just a wee bit close for comfort

I did saturate the image slightly. Here they are without the saturation and last crop at 2/5 original saturation. More natural? Thanks for your comments!

The contrast that you gave the original to get rid of the softness has strengthened all of the colours and they are now too strong and solid. The Contrast (or was it Dehaze or Clarity?) has also left the darks a bit too dark and the highlights a bit too bright. If you have the means you could try lifting the Blacks and dropping the Whites a touch. If you used just contrast you could try a combination of Contrast and Clarity (just remember that too much Clarity will make the image too harsh). You could also try brightening orange in the HSL section. It looks like the darkest of the darks are predominantly orange. A multi-pronged approach will probably work better than one or two extreme adjustments.

The nose looks partly blown. Some careful cloning (not necessarily at full opacity) would probably be the best answer. Keeping the direction of the fur the same as the original will be necessary.

I commented on your cropped lion’s eye on the other thread. I liked it there and also like it here. Your PP work helped quite a bit on the original shot.

Nicely done. I would have cloned some hide on to the white nose, but that's just me.
