Do you mean the RX100 VI? Every camera has a bit of what you might call lag while it focuses. After it focuses, or if you use manual focus, modern cameras have little, if any, lag. Years ago, lag was very common.
I looked at several reviews, and the word "lag" did not appear in them, so I don't think that's a concern.
I remember selling a car years ago - a big Oldsmobile - and during the test drive, the guy wanted to see how it did going up a hill. I was surprised, but then realized that in the old days, driving up a hill could be a challenge for cars. I think it's the same with lag today.
