Night Falls

I was out running around the other night, and had my camera in the car with me. Black Eagle was lit up and exceptionally pretty, so I pulled off on the overlook and after a few tries got what I think is a pretty good shot- seeing as it didn't need much in post. I really need to do more night shooting.

But you didn't explain 'black eagle'

It's a great shot, what I really like are the lights from the city above it. Awesome shot.

Thanks all. It really is cool with the ice and snow. Black Eagle is one of the 5 falls that Great Falls is named for. Black Eagle falls is the most accessible of them, since its pretty much in the middle of town and visible along River Road.
This is the area where Lewis and Clark had to portage their canoes and boats and gear because moving up river is impossible otherwise. And about 100 yards up river from this falls is the part of the river where Lewis was chased by a bear because he hadn't yet reloaded after shoothere's bison.
Now there also happens to be a hydroelectric dam at 4/5 of the falls, Black Eagle is the oldest of them construction on the first damn in this place was 1890 and the current structure replaced it in the 1940s.
I love this area and the history is great. Buildings range in construction dates from 1900-1940s and houses cover a range from
Victorian to Four Square and Craftsman. There's tons of green space and of course the river- everything I love to chase with my camera.
