There doesn't seem to much interest in non-professional videos on UHH, if I am looking in the right place. Where is the proper place to go if I would like to post a video, and are there very many viewers?

Click Home, then All Sections. Appears there is a single choice.

UHH members have little interest in video. Many say they would prefer cameras without that capability at all. Sharing video on UHH is close to a time waster.

Instead, look at Vimeo, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. Each is very different, but you may actually get some viewers.

My personal favorite is Vimeo. I pay for a premium account. It is worth it.

Post them on youtube or vimeo then put the link in your post. We have a video section called "Video for DSLR and Point and Shoot Cameras". It doesn't get much traffic, only 142 topics and 832 posts since November, 2012, generally one or two topics per month. I suspect that is because it's a lot more complicated to create a video than a still pic. Personally the number of views doesn't matter to me. The enjoyment is in creating the video. My wife won't even watch mine, but I have a cousin and two friends who say they like them and I get an occasional online compliment.

I don't think so. UHH people are "old school" photographers and have no interest in video. It has nothing to do with "complexity". The reality is that the "Video for DSLR and Point and Shoot Cameras" is really boring. The title even says that video from video cameras ("camcorders") isn't allowed!

UHH is about "Photographers". They don't do video. Other places do that.

Not to disagree, but I enjoy video if it is well done! I don't shoot video because I've never taken the time to learn how to do it properly. I think there are far more photographers today doing both stills and video than in the past.

While the focus on UHH is stills, an occasional well done video might be a nice change.

I never thought about the title. I wonder if it could be changed to just Video? Actually the group was started and managed by Scoutman, but he hasn't posted anything on UHH in three years.

I belong to a few video forums and a couple of video groups on facebook, but none of them are as active as the UHH Photography section. I think everyone can get a lucky still shot that wows people once in a while, but it's not easy to do in video. We are used to seeing movies and TV shows with enormous budgets and great talent. Most of us posess neither, so our amateur videos are not likely to garner much interest except to others who are engaged in the hobby. It's like being in an art class. The other students and other amateurs can appreciate the effort, but for the majority, nothing is good enough to sell for more than the price of the canvas and paints. Doesn't mean it can't still be a rewarding hobby.

Hope you'll post some videos. The group could use some activity.

Thank you for your comments. I love still photography as well as making videos. I am an amateur for sure, but I try to make videos that someone else might enjoy. Let me know what you think. This one is short.

Since I've been doing digital, I only do still images. But back in the good old film days I did a lot of movie making, so a well made video would certainly get my attention. As far as making films/videos I'm not at all interested in digital. Making movies using film is much more rewarding and the end results are in my opinion far superior! So if I ever do it again, it will be using film, but the cost's of doing that has pretty much gotten out of reach for me!

I agree and do mine of our travel trips, uploading to YouTube partly for a couple dear friends who are bed ridden and other friends & relatives who don't travel due to cost or are afraid to do so. They state that it is like being on the trip with us.

In my opinion it is much more difficult to combine stills, clips, music, transitions, titling, etc smoothly into an interesting video than snap a photo in Auto mode, then click Auto Enhance in PP that I see some doing.

Hi Bill. I like the music and nicely shot. I would have cut the forest scene to about the length of the water scene and added some different scenes (flowers, buildings, roads, animals?) to give more views to the viewer. Nice work.
