Will someone please site the law which gives the right of citizenship to children of illegals born in the USA

Which was meant for the children of the freed slaves. Which is now being abused by those who have crossed the border illegally. Of course they could have changed it long ago. But proves what is happening is by design.

NO As it turn out the above referenve to the 14th amendment is correct. The first 3 words are. All Per son Born.... This needs to be illiminated. We are the only country on the planet which allows "anchor babies"

It is not a law, but it is the result of the interpretation of the 14th amendment to the constitution

The words are quite clear and leaves little room for interpertation. ALL PERSONS BORN, leaves very little room for any other opinion. If some one believes that 2+2=5 they are wrong even if they really meant 4. I wish it weren't so, but it is. It's very dangerous to try and figure out what someone meant 100 or even 50 years ago. You either beleive in the constitution as written or it is a "flexable" ducment meant to change with the times. If you don't like what that document says- change it, don't interpetate it.

When the invasion began all they had to do was amend the constitution to say born to citizens of the US.
Maybe that’s what we should push for as a whole

Truncated quotes lead to illogical conclusions.

The unbuggered quote is:

“All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

Many of those responsible for the vote on the 14th are on record stating that this was not to include children if illegals because they were under the jurisdiction of their home country. None are on record saying it covered illegals.

It would have been easier to delete the ‘jurisdiction thereof’ if they had believed things the way you portray it.

Your argument further falls apart in that Native American Indians were not granted citizenship as they were under the jurisdiction of the individual tribes.

Read a book.

The 14th was not intended to apply to anchor babies.
