Lesson learned.

A couple of months ago I dropped my camera then sent it off to Nikon to be repaired. I also asked if they could replace the eye cup. It was returned 3 weeks later; no new eye cup installed. No problem asked Amazon and they had them 2 for 8 bucks. . . delivered the next day.

Took the camera out on a shoot, it worked well except for - image review wasn't working (The photo appears on the screen immedialty after it's taken. I called Nikon and discovered 2 button reset didn't reset and who knows what else didn't work. So I sent it back to Nikon . . 2 weeks pass. The camera is returned with a note.

"We removed your eye cup, and replaced it with a Nikon eye cup. Everything meets factory spec now."

The 3rd party - supposedly made for the Nikon D7500 was covering the eye sensor. When this is covered all sorts of bad things happen - Like the image review feature, the two button reset.

Wow! Interesting. Too bad they didn't replace the eye cup first time around.

I am confused. But that's easily done. You use the term "eye cup", which has no glass. But then you talk about a 3rd party eye cup which I think was really an "eye piece" which has glass in it.
But even that should not effect image review and two button reset.
Something is missing, I just don't know what.

I too learned the hard way. Hubby gave me a Mac for our anniversary. Now I’m not very computer savvy, so the learning curve for the Mac would be the same as learning to edit on the old laptop. I was so excited that I went to Best Buy and bought a disc reader and an adapter for sd cards and USB ports. The disc reader was Apple. The adapter was not. Like I said, I’m not computer savvy, but I just wanted to download pics to a usb for a friend. Spent 2 days 3-3.5 hours each day on the phone with Apple. Nothing worked. Emailed the manufacturer of the adapter. They basically told me the connection is tight and to hold my Mac in one hand and using the palm of my other hand to forcefully apply pressure to the adapter.....problem solved.......... life is a learning curve, but apparently my curve is very steep. 🤣

I believe in using what the manufacturer has available for their cameras.
Lenses are a very good example. An L-braket is a different story but none of them will interfere with the normal operation of the camera.

And a good reason to always purchase OEM equipment/parts.

Apparently the computer thinks you've got your eye to the viewfinder so it doesn't review any pictures. You can't see the screen if you're looking through the viewfinder and if you are getting ready to shoot, you would not be pressing the 2 button reset.

My local dealer won't do anything more complex than cleaning the sensor. It fact, he's useless. I can clean my sensor.
