I am looking into this camera with the 12mm-60mm, and the 45-200mm lenses. Does anyone use or know of anyone using this outfit, I am considering this outfit. Would appreciate any info. Thank you ...........Mike

Mike - Some friends of mine recently took a Panasonic G85 with the 12-60mm lens on one of those European river cruise trips. They loved it and the G85 wound up getting most of the use instead of the large, heavy DSLR they also brought.

I have owned G1, G2, G3. G5 with 14-45 and 45-200 and 45-150. Loved all of them. The 45-200 was very sharp uo to 180. 45-150 sharp end to end, smaller and lighter. I now own a GX7 and 12-32 and 35-100, performance is superb. Panasonic Lumix is Great! In ten years with Panny I have never been disappointed.
The G85 is, of course, weather proof, and is, I believe, similar to the G9, which is very highly rated up to professional standards. You may be looking at the later 45-200 Power Zoom, which I have no experience of.
Be lucky.

For the last few years I've been using Panasonic GX-85 and the DC-G9 after 50+years with Nikon. Sold all my Nikon gear and would not conceive of going back...love the Panasonic cameras and lenses! You will be impressed with Panasonic, whatever model you choose!!

I have used the G85 primarily for travel for the past 3 years or so. It’s an excellent camera. With the right lens you’ll be able to take professional level shots. My first photo award shot was taken with my G85. You should be able to get a very good discount on the G85 now because they just released an upgrade—the G95. If you’re inclined to spend about $300-400 more, by all means look into it. Otherwise you can’t go wrong with the G85, IMHO.
If you are enchanted with the G85, go for it.And, if you’re so inclined, look into a Leica lense. Lumix body with Leica lens is an unbeatable combination.
Good luck

I use Olympus bodies with a few Panasonic lenses and I am very happy with them. I know the G85 as a very good tool and it has the advantage of using Olympus lenses that are lenses of excellent quality.
You are going to be very happy with that camera.

Bought a G85 about six weeks ago—very happy with it so far. Have sold the last of my Canon equipment with no regrets.

I shoot th G 85 for almost a year. Love the stabilization and photo quality is outstanding. There menu is sweet and lots of good glass to chose from. Olympus lens work on penny bodies. 4K video and the low pass filter has been removed for better image quality.

i have been using the G85 for past year, best camera i've ever owned. use with 12-60mm lens, olympus 45-150mm and 10-18mm lenses and they've all been very good for my purposes. camera is light, versatile and will probably do anything you want to accomplish with it - and the price on a very good used one is very good. have used many different brands over the years, mostly canon dslr's, but won't be going back to that route, this camera is just the right size and weight for me..

Thank you I will probably get it this weekend, with the 12-60mm lens and the 45-200mm lens, my local camera store has it on sale with both lenses for $799.99 do you think that is a good deal ?...........Mike
