Of the many interesting things and places to see in Egypt Abu Simbel is perhaps my favorite. These temples were carved in solid rock on the bank of the Nile River and would have been completely submerged by Lake Naser had they not been cut into blocks, moved above the river gorge and reassembled piece by piece in manmade hills. It involved an international effort. These are all copies of slides from way back when.

You had an interesting tour and documented it well. From time-to-time, I think we should take a tour in that part of the country. So many interesting places in our world and not enough time.
