I have been trying to use Lightroom CC for the past couple of months and have found that the home screen I see and the one shown in the Adobe tutorials are different. I have not been able to ascertain a reason from Adobe as yet. I found this to be true with some presets I purchased as well. Has anyone run into this or have any ideas what may be going on? Thanks.

That is my main issue with the tutorials. The screens are different as are the control choices.

I agree totally. I'm like, what? vz
Many of the tutorials were written in past updated renditions of the applications.

Great! How does that help us poor slobs trying to the app?
Your other option is trial and error as you look for another tutorial that is more accurate for today’s software.
First ensure the tutorial you are watching is for the correct version of Lightroom - i.e. Lightroom CC or Lightroom Classic. These are two different programmes.
Version 6.x and before would be similar to Lightroom Classic, but Lightroom CC is relatively new.

Use their phone support. it is very good.
Suggest Anthony Morganti tutorials on Lightroom. Very complete and easy to follow. Search YouTube
Laura Shoe sells fairly priced video tutorials for Lightroom and Photoshop which I have found very easy to learn from and refer back to if needed.

How about a screen shot. I watch many. many LR videos and my screen looks like videos with minor differences.
i found the difference was between lightroom classic cc and Lightroom cc.

The Adobe phone support folks do not speak an understandable version of English.

Adobe changes the home screen from time to time. Tutorials made before (or after), the home screen was changed will show a different home screen. So if you get a different home screen on the tutorial that is a clue the tutorial was made with a different version.
Since you are using CC you will always have the latest version. The significance here is twofold: (1) earlier versions may not have all the features of latter versions and (2) Adobe does not delete functions but they move them to different menus sometimes. So you might have to poke around to find the function you are looking for.

If the tutorials are for Lightroom CC and don't match what you have, it appears you have Lightroom Classic. For most, that's a good thing - it's by far the more powerful product. Look for tutorials for classic - there's a ton of them. Julianne Kost with Adobe is a good starting place, but bear in mind she does tutorials for both products.
