One evening last week(maybe Wednesday) I was watching one of the political commentary programs, I'm not even sure which one now. But it was an open dialogue about the Republican convention in Tampa next week. The one comment that I want to point out, and that stuck in my head was this. The Republicans want to use the convention next week to re-brand their candidate. To show him as presidential, to show him as the upstanding family man, to show his real character.

On Friday Mitt Romney had the chance to do just that. He has been saying for the last few months that he wanted to talk about the issues. He wanted to talk about American jobs, the economy, American values. He had that opportunity to elevate the conversation to what he says he wants to talk about..... BUT he couldn't even do that. He had to take it down a few notches.... no he actually had to take it down to gutter level politics. Maybe this is the "character" he really wants everyone to see.

The man just can't help himself.

I heard his comments and I saw the reaction of the crowd. Really obnoxious on both counts. What happened to the GOP? Have the Sheriff Joe's, and Rush Limbaughs taken it over so completely that the party is lost to the extremists. It's one thing to have some dummy spout birther crap but to have the Presidential candidate do it is unforgivable.

Kit Lens, how can you possibly fault Romney for saying that no one has ever asked him where he was born, when Obama allows the ad to run that says Romney killed some man's wife. Also, Obama keeps on talking about Romney's dog who rode in a safely attached carrier on top of his car thirty some years ago, when Obama wrote that he ATE dog. I would much rather be Romney's dog than Obama's. Also, you liberals keep harping on "birthers". Well, why doesn't Obama just put it all to rest and release his records. Don't tell me that the latest attempt at his birth certificate is legal, because of lots of reasons, one of which is the fact that it said he was African American and it was typed on a computer. Blacks were not called African Americans in 1961 nor were there computers. Where are his college transcripts, his applications to schools, the papers he and his wife wrote in college, his real birth certificate, etc. etc. Could it be that he attended college as a foreign exchange student? How else could he have gotten into Harvard after having spent (by his own words in his book) lost in a haze of drugs in high school? My son, who graduated valedictorian from a large high school, won every math contest in the state, brought home 2 grocery bags full of awards from graduation, and who is now a neuroradiologist could not get into Harvard. How in heck did some drugged out Bozo get into Harvard? You liberals need to stop believing the mainstream media, do your own research with an open mind, and tell us why Obama does nothing to help our country. He stalls and blathers and obfuscates and never addresses the real problems our country faces. In my opinion, he wants us to be in the mess he has created for us and our children and grandchildren, who will never be able to pay off his debt. He throws billions of our tax dollars at his cronies who have failed businesses. Either he is as dumb as a post or he is as wily as a fox.
