photoshop CS6 exporting problem

I have just bought photoshop CS6 MAC version and when I open up an image and import from Aperture and after processing in cs6 I "save as" and after the photo is transferred to desktop { as I cant seem to see any options to transfer straight to aperture again} The photo ends up as a 4.9mb 1.5mp size. No matter what I do to change the size it comes back as the same size whether its a jpg or tiff or whatever. Anyone know what Im doing wrong?..

Hi. I also use Aperture and Photoshop. I import to Photoshop from Aperture and print or do what I want with the picture. Then you can Save As to a file or anywhere you want to, not just the desktop. You can also save the photo in whatever format you want. It will ask you what you want to do with the photo, where you want it and in what format. If you do a Save, not Save As, the photo will automatically go back to Aperture as a .PSD with the layers. I hope this works for you.

Thanks I have tried these options but cant find the image anywhere in aperture. What is the exact procedure you do? do you use open in photoshop first? then select in aperture the image you want then after processing in photoshop you save? Ive tried save as but there is not am option to send it to aperture..Thanks

Sorry to take so long to reply. I was at work! In Aperture, click on the Aperture in upper left, then Preferences. Change the External Photo Editor to Adobe Photoshop CS6. Set the file format you want it to come back to Aperture in (PSD, Tiff, etc.), and pick your color space. Then when you want to process a photo in Photoshop, double click on the photo and click where it says Edit with Adobe Photoshop. The photo will go to Photoshop. It doesn't matter whether you have previously opened it. If you haven't, Photoshop will open. When you are done with the photo, click Save and the photo will go back to Aperture in the format you chose and end up right next to the original photo you sent. You will see a little round symbol on the right bottom of the picture showing that it's the one from Photoshop. If you click Save As, you can choose where to send it, to another file or the desktop. I don't think you can send it to Aperture with the Save As.
This procedure has always worked for me except for one time I was having trouble. I closed and reopened everything and then it all worked again.
Please let me know if I'm not clear or you do all this and it still doesn't work. Then I might be stumped! But you can always google the problem and get answers from the Apple Forum.

Thanks so much it all works now although they come back as 17mb files even though I changed it to 50% size maybe Im still doing something wrong. Or is it that I have to change the size at the aperture end? cheers
