I did my best but the wind was battering me and also causing water movement.

Water Boatman, the tiniest mite and some oddments.

Your fifth photo is a bit odd. There are only about five abdominal segments shown. It looks like a rove beetle shot at angle from elytra to exposed wings, or wing.

It had swam downwards towards the submerged leaf and was bent over.

Bug police here. The bugs are backswimmers. Notonéctidae. They are predacious, as shown.
Water boatmen, Coríxidae, swim dorsal side up, and are primarily detritis feeders.

Very nice! I would be interesting (and easier for you, to some degree) if the water critters were brought indoors for photography. They might not be welcome for long since they can fly, however.

Thanks for the correction Bill. I was surprised to see them upside down and assumed they were a different kind of Boatmen. I will look out for some real boatmen now.

Good idea Mark, I may try that. Catching the Backswimmers may be tricky as they drop down into deeper water at the slightest intrusion. A case for using a net.

A further FYI on aquatic bugs. Water striders, backswimmers, water boatmen share common habitat with whirligig beetles. Walk slowly along small streams and find them hanging with the current at under cut banks and at bends.

Thanks for that JH2o, so what I have is Greater Water Boatmen and also have regained my pride. Bill was correct also using nomenclature in USA. You know so much about this stuff and always willing to help, so thanks again.
