Sony fan boy here, so not really interested except to know why you are getting so many of these traded in. Are folks not happy with the Canon R?

Thats pretty much it. Had one traded for a 5D MK IV and two traded for Nikon Z7's, including this one.

Hmmmm! If I had a few shares of Canon stock I think I would be selling it.

Ha! Spent quite a while replying to this in support of the R, which I have and really like, but when I tried to add a couple of sample photos taken with it, the page bombed and my post went away. Guess that's a no-no, and I won't be trying that again! Not going to try to recreate my message, but I will say the R suits me just fine. Enough so that I sold my 5D Mark III yesterday. Might should have looked at the Nikon Z7 or the Sony A7RIII, but there ya go.

I don't know that Canon is sinking, but I did talk a while with a retired pro who had been a traveling photographer for Canon for many years. His photos from all over the world are widely published under the Canon name, he says. I was buying his 1.4x II as he was clearing out his Canon stuff. He had waited for the new Canon stuff to come out, but it's resolution was not what he was hoping for. With a bit of guilt and sadness, he went for the Sony a7Riii for the 42.4mp and 10fps and their software's capability to overlay 4 images in order to produce a 160mp image. He wants to print wall-sized prints of images HE wants to shoot now that he's retired. He and two passengers met me on I-25 on his way to Cheyenne to photograph the worlds largest steam engine (I think I'd seen a TV report on it.) as the train pulled back into town from it's maiden "rebuild" voyage to and from someplace in Utah.
