Now who would have imagined people ignoring their governments attempt to take their right of self defense.

Lefties always show their stupidity by trying to make a law about the gun, as if the gun has a mind of it's own. How about mental health being an issue?

For those on the left mental health is most definitely an issue.

I watch for it here every day that the libs have some kind of control in government. And I am prepared should it ever happen. I am so grateful lefties are afraid to handle weapons as it will make things easier for the rest of us.

The people of New Zealand seem to be much smarter than those they elect.

I think the left could see much the same reaction here if they attempt what the New Zealand government
is doing here.

The original Reuters story, not quite as breathless and giddy as the World Tribune. The deadline is in Sept.

"New Zealand police expect tens of thousands of firearms in guns buy-back scheme"

The only gun control I ever learned was being able to hit my target. A steady hand and controlled breathing helped that immensely.

What they expect and what they actually receive may not be as expected.

It never cease to amaze me how ignorant people are of how outlawing guns/gun control as they put it only works for the criminals and dictators - just look south of the border in Mexico and in Venezuela - 99% of gun types have been outlawed in MX for a long time and you know how that is working there and Venezuela has a dictatorship because of the gun ban of recent years. Many states have some very strict gun ownership laws and they work as well as they can when enforced - confiscating legal owned guns when the owner crosses the line of being mentally fit to pass the original background check to buy one. As well as breaking the law and becoming a felon.
I am one of those gun owners who no longer hunts because of my age but I am armed for my protection and those around me who are not armed. Part of the local well trained and ARMED militia.
Harvey in the California Sierra Mnts.
