The CA Black Tail of this area - no. central CA Sierra Foothills - have been in velvet for a few weeks now - ya - lots of things can happen to the antlers while they are softer during velvet/early growth - we don't have the radical difference between typical and non-typical antlers as the white tail do - they can be quite interesting.

This could be - right now they are like the ones that were posted - this is one I 'Shot' July 15.'18 -just one more month to get there. I can't get enough photos of the lovely critters.
