Does anyone know of a good recovery software/program. Picked up the wrong card and formatted some pictures that I would like to be able to recover. Never thought it would happen but it did. Using three bodies and should have slowed down. Thanks in advance.

There are many recovery programs, just Google for free ones. Here is one. Should be no problem to get back - formatting does not actually remove them. But obviously don't use card again till recovered, makes it more difficult.

Thanks again, looks like I'll be able to save everything. Had to buy because there were about 600 shots on the card all in raw and full frame. Most of the free ones only recover so much. I've got the software and hope I've learned enough not to have to repeat this again!

You can recover deleted images, but its usually impossible to recover images that have been removed by formatting!

These were formatted and recovered 100%, about 600 images and don't see any loss of IQ.

Expensive lesson learned but glad to hear all recovered. Didn't realize so many, otherwise would have mentioned need to buy a program. Now you are the expert on recovery. <grin>

I use Card Recovery. Works great for me.

Good reason to keep each body with its own SD / CF card(s), and DL images from each camera one at a time. I have 5 digital cameras that use the same sort of SanDisk SD cards in each, three are similar enough cameras that a mistake could be made. I usually start looking at or even PP'ing my images before moving on to another camera and so know what was transferred to my PC long before I even think of reformatting. The issue I do have is I sometimes forget to reformat and I get the "old" images again when I transfer the new batch.

Oh, and from what I read, there are ways and software to get your pictures back. Good luck.
