Canon tech support is AWESOME! Call them, don’t try on line chat. I had a problem with print quality and Charles, the tech support, walked me through the fix step-by-step.

It sounds like the socket has broken off the circuit board. Depending on how it is broken internally will determine cost or availability of parts to fix. Canon service can answer and direct you to local certified repair. My new 2 year old Epson stopped printing sharply and had skipping lines. Epson replaced my printer with an upgrade for FREE!

If Canon doesn't help and you can't use a wifi connection, try duct tape (seriously)! With that and a coat hanger, you can fix almost anything. At least that was my father's theory, and most of the time it worked for him. LOL.
