A trip to Grand Canyon north side.

My wife and I are planning to drive from Victoria, BC to the Grand Canyon on the north side. We will be going to Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley, Antelope Canyon and Lake Powell. Then we will head north to Yellowstone Park and up to Alberta to visit our son, his wife and our grandson and then travel back to Victoria through the rockies. Does anyone know other places we should visit along the way. Should be good for a few thousand photos. Your input is much appreciated.
If you drive through California, I suggest at least a day in Yosemite Valley, and a visit to Sequoia National Park.

If you can find time to go to Moab, Arches, and Red Rock Canyon, you will not regret it. But, without hesitation, I strongly encourage you to spend some quality time in Yellowstone. I've never experienced anything quite as breath-taking. And the Grand Tetons are amazing! Jackson Hole is a nice little town outside of Yellowstone. The Wort Hotel is on the list of National Historic Registry. It is a little pricey but the rooms are amazing...just don't get a ground floor room.
We were in Page this spring. The slot canyon tour that uses Hummers for transportation was wonderful. We were on the first tour of the day and were the only ones in the canyon--besides our guide. You can find them on the web since I'm not sure if I can use a business name on here. We also did the trip to Rainbow Bridge in the morning. You'll want to base the time of that trip on which light you'd prefer for photos.

My wife and I recently traveled out west and traveled through the Four Corners area (CO, AZ, NM, UT), Painted Desert, Painted Forrest (Same area), Winslow Arizona (Standing on the Corner), Durango Colorado (Ride the Train) and the North Rim. All were well worth seeing. We didn't get to spend as much time in Monument Valley as we would have liked, but what we did see was great. Enjoy your trip and take a lot of photos.

One place I would really recommend since you are going that far, is to go a bit farther into Wyoming and visit the Devil's tower. Then stop in Yoho Park, Alberta and see Takawka Falls. Here's a couple of pix to illustrate. Sounds like a great trip.

If at all possible, I would swing through Glacier National Park. It's MY favorite of all the parks. The "Going to the Sun Road" is spectacular!

Thanks Mlj, I've heard Arches is really beautiful and we may check that one out also and we are really looking forward to going to Yellowstone as we haven't been there for 35 years.

Thanks Nikonian 72, we visited Sequoia National Park 2 years ago and really enjoyed it, took lots of photos there.
Try to get to Antelope Canyon during the week instead of the weekend. You'll get fewer people, so your photography can be better. Be sure to spend time in the Lower canyon. Once your res fee is paid by going to the upper canyon, the entry into the lower is only a few dollars and you can spend ALL DAY! That's where most of the pictures I sell are from. Obviously, the sunbeam and coyote in the upper are must-do's. But the lower canyon has very few people, less light, and a ton of photo opps!

Thanks for the heads up AzPicLady, I was planning on spending quite a bit of time in Antelope Canyon as I have seen a lot of awesome photos from there.
