Thanks to all of you who responded to my original request for information.
I have discovered that Apple Photos will allow me to Post-Process raw files. All I have to do is identify them as raw using the "Use Raw As Original" command in the "IMAGE" pull down menu. Editing then becomes just like for a JPEG.
