Nikon, but I wonder if the D90 is too old for them. Start the process online, and see how it goes.

Fingers crossed?? this was a gift that i want to give to my oldest grandaughter as a "starter" Had a D90 that I gave to my Grandson. He loves it!!
I'm shocked -- given the cellphone age!!

Where are you in Catskills? I worked in Monticello - junior year of college. Borshtbelt? right?

Be careful. You can buy a used, low shutter count D90 for about $150 on eBay. Repair cost could easily exceed that.

Good luck with any repair. I did the same with my D90 a couple of years ago. One of my grandsons had an interest in photography. I gave him my D90 and his father, my son in law, gave me his D610 when he bought the D850. Then the following year my grandson got his first cell phone. That quickly replaced the D90.
I have not heard the term "Borsht Belt" in a while. Jewish Alps was another term. Long gone. Changing views and wants. Like the camera industry.

Call Nikon tech support at 1-800-645-6687. I am not sure they will even repair that camera anymore, but call them, the call is free.

I do not know if this vendor provides general repair service; however, they did an excellent job on my D80 and serviced the camera in addition to the ERR repair. I would most certainly check with them again should I need service on any older Nikon.

Sent the D90 to Nikon Service Center, Melville NY.

They wanted info re D90 before they would accept.

Any one have experience w/ Nikon in Melville?

If indeed Nikon may not service the D90 it means they days of disposable DSLRs has arrived!

I would be hesitant to invest any funds in a product that won't be serviced...kinda like buying a Cadillac knowing that in 10 years GM won't change the oil and filters!
