Wow, this is nearly surreal, Edie. The color and light and sharp details are perfect. Lots of small stories too (I pm'd one to you), but for impact, hard to beat this IMO.
Incredible depth of field at f/3.5 and 23 mm and oh that Zeiss lens...no wonder so many folks are raving about this Sony!

What a fantastic shot. So many individual stories to tell, yet one whole story. This one will stay with me throughout the day.

You captured many stories in one well documented big mood way-of-life story. For example; crop to one of several stories within the overall; the boy center left hanging on to the post and daring to step. ... move him to a crop with him upper left.... that is a very human story.

I found my eye bouncing all over the place. I realize this is someone's neighborhood, but hard for me to pick out the main subject. On the plus side there is that repeating pattern theme. 
But it does look like you had one very unusual trip, and for me that is a definite good thing.
