Topaz Denoise A.I.
Out of the blue I received an email from Topaz Labs detailing their new NR product, Topaz Denoise A.I.
Downloaded and installed it right away.
Tested a high noise/high ISO (16,000) shot using .50 NR, .15 Sharpness increase and a .20 detail setting - pretty amazing results...for a point and click adjustment.
Not real slow either, allows either CPU or GPU use.
It exists alongside Topaz Denoise 6, both available as a plugin from within Lightroom, however the plugin external editor setup had an error when it installed on my Mac - basically it was pointing to C:/program files/Topaz as the folder, instead of the proper path for a Mac, easily fixed within 2 seconds.
IMHO - It is definitely worth a look see. Right is original noisy image, left is after Topaz Denoise A.I. with above settings.
DNGallagher,
Is Denoize AI an update for the prior Denoize program and, I assume, there is a PC version as well. What did it cost?
Thanks,

Right now it goes for 59.00 down from 79.00 - but it was free for me as I owned Denoise 6 and Topaz A.I. Clear
You can download a free trial like any of the Topaz products.

Thanks, I'm on it.

Does it work on raw as well as jpeg and tiff images?

No, because a Raw image just consists of data, there is no image there that you can see.
Got my notice today. Will install later

By being a plugin to Lightroom your raw image is converted prior to sending to Denoise, just like the other Topaz plugins

Lightroom can apply noise reduction, to raw images, DXO PhotoLab's PRIME noise reduction can ONLY be applied to raw images, ON1's noise reduction can be applied to raw images, and even Canon's own DPP software applies noise reduction to raw images. Other software can do it as well. I meant can it be used a plug in to a non destructive raw processor or when using raw images in Topaz Studio if that is an option.

As a Lightroom plugin you convert a raw to send it to the plugin, I go from cr2 to TIFF, and Topaz resaves as the stacked TIFF in Lightroom.
The conversion is automatic by Lightroom just like it has always been with the plugin use.

Thanks for the response. So you can't see the effect of it in Lightroom before exporting your image to a tiff or jpeg like when sending an image to PS?

When you round trip the raw with Lightroom it will return to Lightroom and be stacked with the original image, so yes, you can see the effect in Lightroom.
You see the effect of the sliders on screen in Denoise A.I. while working on the image, unlike DXO Prime NR, but when finished and resaving it seems like more secret sauce must be being added as it takes a little processing time.
I've downloaded it, but I haven't installed it yet. Later today. Your results are impressive.
I've tried it but got better results using DxO Prime.
