What are the main differences between the Lightsphere Collapsible hood, Cloud and half cloud? Do you have any examples of the three?
TY
If I purchase any of them do I need anything else to mount it on my Canon 580 flash?

Not trying to be a wise guy, but these are among the worst things you can buy to improve the quality of the light falling on a subject. The best is to turn your flash head to either side or behind you and bounce - it will cost you nothing and the quality of the light will be wonderful.

I agree with Gene on his spin.

A worthy watch comes from Neil Van Niekerk showing comparisions and the black foamie thingie which is cheap and effective.

Total junk don't bother . It only absorbs power ..you only need a flash above the lens to stop shadows and hit them head on .

Don't have any Gary Fong gadgets. Over-priced plastic toys.

I choose MagMod products over Fong. Sometimes you don't have anything to bounce off of available. This is usually the case when shooting outdoors at drag races at night.

I totally agree with the above also if you go to Craftsy Neil Van Niekerk has a class on flash. Also his first book on flash is excellent. Use the black foamie thing.

Here is another vote for Neil Van Niekerk and his black foamy thing. Talk about more bang for your buck, These cost a dollar and perform like a giant soft box.

I agree. The Fong diffuser is worthless junk. Bounce your light. Or get a Demb Flip It.

the problem with bouncing is that you need something to bounce on .if you are in the open , you cant bounce .also bouncing use a lot of light , you need a strong flash .

Part of my point about shooting drag racing outdoors and at night...nothing to bounce off of at all. Bouncing can also cause color cast issues. It all depends on what and where you are shooting and what equipment you have...

I have and use the Lightsphere collapsible dome.
Works very well.
It was recommended by a real pro who was using one. He has been in the business over 40 years now and has a thriving business. So I figured he knows and his work is excellent.
I also like it very well and it is quite versatile.

I envy you! You can said things like this and doesn't get flamed. I got flamed for saying those diffusers have been good for Gary and not so much for his customers.
