I am so confused! I have read and studied about using PSE 10 and RAW. I read some articles which imply my PSE 10 can work in RAW. Others say I need to download a plug-in. I am totally confused. If I need the plug-in, where do I find it? Is there a cost?
My camera is a Sony A35 if that makes a difference.
If this has been previously discussed and someone could direct me to the posting, that would be great! I couldn't find it but again my frustration level is rising.
Thanks for everyone's help.

You do not need any plug-ins with PSE 10, Adobe RAW is already included in Elements. When your files are opened up in the organizer, and you select to edit the RAW file. Adobe camera raw will automatically be loaded, and the RAW file opened. Until you become thoroughly use to working with RAW files, I suggest you let Adobe RAW make the decisions. To do this select the Automatic option, in the right hand menu.
When you have finished with RAW, do not select save, but select open. This will open the RAW file, in the usual Elements editor. You can then do any final touches you want, before selecting save as to whatever format you chose.
I would love to let PSE 10 automatically correct my pictures but I can't see my pictures to open them. I just took several test pictures in RAW. I went to Organizer and told it to get the pictures from my camera. I saw a grayed out image and selected those to upload. When the upload was finished, I received an error message and the pictures are not in the Organizer. What am I doint wrong?
This is the message I received.
"Nothing was imported. The file or folder did not contain any supported file types or the files are already in this Catalog."

Are you downloading directly from the camera, or from a card reader. With either; windows should ask how you want to open the files, you should select with Adobe Elements Organizer.
After the files are down-loaded, you should see the thumbnails in the organizer space.
I love it when I learn something! I've been using PSE10 but was unaware of the "automatic" option in RAW. I'm going to check it out right now!

I am downloading from the camera. I am in Organizer and I tell Organizer to get the files from the camera. It appears to download but then I get the error message.
GRRRRRRR!

Try just connecting the camera, without the organizer opened. Windows after a few seconds, should popup an applet asking how you would like to open the files. Choose elements 10, the organizer should open with the files downloaded.
Elements is probably unable to find your camera, so let windows find it. There are certain command lines in the elements program, that have to be filed in properly before it will function correctly. You will find these under Edit, Preferences, General, in the organizer File menu.

Tell me, you are not using a MAC.
You may just need to update your version of Adobe Camera Raw, which you can do by visiting
www.adobe.com, Adobe are adding support for new cameras all the time.

What's wrong with using a Mac?
Just a suggestion: restart your computer, if still nothing reformat your card. GET A CARD READER $13 at WalMart.
Most important, have fun.
I'm enjoying life as you.

Nothing - the process would be simpler, assuming Camera Raw is up to date so that it accepts your A35 files.
