Hello ...Could you identify the butterfly on this Daffodil. Cannot find my Collins reference book , and not familiar with the species, rather tiny.

Well the thread has been running for 90 plus minutes. Over 100 views, just one other poster who could not ID the species. I wonder how many of the 100 viewers would be interested to know the answer?

There are a couple of photos on this UK site:

You can sort out the name from there.

With Linda's help, I believe it to be an orange tipped butterfly.

Thanks Linda...From looking at the link you provided, I recognised two images which seemed to match my example. One picture had the caption of just the Photographer's name. The other had the name "Orange Tip", But that name was more attributed to a different species on a picture close-by, which had orange tips to the wings. So there was no definitive answer there. As suggested earlier, I will try the Gallery Section.

I thought it might be a moth but you are more likely correct.

Orange Tip, Anthocharis cardamines, it seems to have no orange on the wing tips so its a female

I agree with orange -tip,found in temperate Europe and Asia, Japan. Orange tip wings may be folded with-in the outer wings.

This site shows same view as the OP's and calls it female orange-tip (underwing view):

(edit - and now I see that the answer was quickly provided in Photo Gallery Ah well, sometimes it's fun to play detective.)
