Last fall 2018 I followed a passion for a day searching for photography backgrounds of Oregon white oak in eastern Washington dry habitats. The oak is found along highway 12 and south to the Columbia River and of Course beyond into Oregon. I am fascinated by the the history and enchanting character of each tree. I wanted to share this often overlooked potential for backdrops in photography. It was a cloudy day a little past peak color.

Although they might be too interesting in their own right to be good backgrounds! They are quite beautiful.
I've tried a couple of times to capture their essence and failed miserably
I'm particularly drawn to your compositions in #1 and #2 - the use of the meadow as leading line and a sense of depth. Just marvelous!
Like them all, very nice captures...thanks for sharing!!
Yup, white oak are wonderful things. Our younger son owns 30 acres of oak savannah in western Oregon. It’s beautiful scenery. And when they fall over at about 150 year’s age they yield wonderful firewood. Nice images. Like them.
The first two are particularly beautiful. The colors are just perfect.
I like all of these but to go against the grain, I especially like #4 - just a matter of personal taste. I have junipers on and around my property in Colorado that are often in similar twisted shapes. I wish I were more accomplished at tree photography but at least I have some subjects here to practice on (just moved here from Idaho a few months ago). Thanks for posting these and I'm envious of your skill in this area.
These are beautiful. I also like #4 - the shapes and twists of that tree speak volumes.

Trees with character, lovely colors and textures, too.
